Summer tradition

Little Anglers Day

First casts. Big smiles. Every Thursday.

All summer long we turn the pier into a safe, family-first morning where kids learn to rig, cast, and land their own fish — and find out they belong on the rail.

This June

This summer’s dates

Every kid 15 and under gets a morning of fishing, the basics taught right, and their own catch — theirs to reel, theirs to brag about.

What you need to know

  • Pre-registration required — you’ll get a confirmation once your spot is accepted
  • Children 10 and under need an adult on the pier with them
  • The child reels in their own fish — a grown-up can help, but the catch is theirs
  • Every kid gets the event t-shirt
  • One rod per child · NC fishing regulations apply
  • Rain date is the following Thursday — we post changes here the moment they’re made

Pre-register or ask questions — Marla Driftwood at (910) 555-0147

Years of first catches

Memories from the rail

Families have made this their summer tradition. First catches, new friends, and the kind of confidence that only comes from reeling in your own fish.

Why Little Anglers Day matters

Help us keep the rail full of kids

Little Anglers Day runs on volunteers, donated gear, and local sponsors. Every bit of help puts another rod in a kid’s hands.

Ways to help

  • Volunteer a Thursday morning to coach young anglers
  • Donate rods, tackle, snacks, or kid-sized life vests
  • Sponsor at $200+ — your name on the event t-shirts
  • Give $100+ — listed on the season thank-you board at the gate
